Cate Blanchett and Bradley Cooper are the team-up we never knew we needed. The talented Oscar-nominated actress is in talks to join the equally talented Oscar nominated actor in the remake of ‘Nightmare Alley,’. Which is conveniently being helmed by just as equally talented Oscar-nominated filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.
The veteran director is teaming back up with Fox Searchlight for the project, which also made del Toro’s best picture Oscar winner ‘The Shape of Water.’
‘Nightmare Alley’ will be based on the novel by William Lindsay Gresham, which was adapted into a Fox feature in 1947. And tells the story of an ambitious con man who hooks up with a female psychiatrist for a mentalist routine. But she eventually turns the tables on him.
Del Toro wrote the new script along with Kim Morgan and the filmmaker will also produce the new film with J. Miles Dale. No word yet on filming or a tentative release date but Blanchett will next be seen in theaters in an adaptation of ‘Where’d You Go, Bernadette’ and is set for the FX series ‘Mrs. America.’
