The Jedi order is once again calling Ewan McGregor into service. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the actor who famously portrayed the masterful Jedi Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi in three Star Wars movies is in negotiations to reprise the role in a new series for Disney Plus.
This Obi-Wan Kenobi centered series would be the third Star Wars title headed for the streaming platform. The other two being The Mandalorian and a Rogue One prequel starring Diego Luna.
No timeline for the Kenobi project was revealed. The Mandalorian is set to debut in November as a launch title for Disney Plus. As for Ewan McGregor, the actor last starred in Disney’s Christopher Robin.
He has two major franchise films on the docket. The Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep, which is set to open in November and a villainous turn in DCs Birds of Prey with Margot Robbie.
