Super Bowl Shakira and JLo show is the most-watched in YouTube history

The video of the halftime show surpassed 85 million views on YouTube, becoming the most-watched Super Bowl 2020 halftime show in the history of the platform.

The hips don’t lie, says Shakira, and the numbers don’t either, YouTube says. The half-time show of the Super Bowl 2020, which starred the Colombian and the Diva of the Bronx, Jennifer Lopez, became the most-watched show of this type in the history of the platform.

The information, which first appeared on a JLo fan Twitter account, was later confirmed via email by a YouTube spokesman, although they did not give us figures of the other shows that have been previously performed. 

“The half-time video has surpassed 85 MILLION views and is now the most-watched halftime show of all time on YouTube,” read the message on the Jennifer Lopez Charts account (@JLoCharts):

The most recent Super Bowl 2020 was played on February 2 between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers  and at the break, after completing the first half of the game, Shakira and Lopez showed up, with two unexpected guests: J. Balvin and Bad Bunny.

Both artists performed their best-known tracks, such as “She Wolf,” “Eyes like that,” “Hips Don’t Lie,” “Jenny From The Block,” “On the floor,” and “The Ring.” The duo between JLo and his daughter, Emme Maribel, when they sang the songs “Let’s Get Loud” and “Born in the USA”, with the Puerto Rico flag in the background, was very commented on the social networks.
