Ubisoft has confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege will be available on the next generation of consoles.
Roy Del Valle, the game’s product manager, made this announcement on the last day of the Six Invitational 2020 in Canada.
Del Valle was invited to a panel to talk about the major changes being made in Year 5 and Year 6 of the game. He mainly said that there will be one new operator per season.
“When you look at the amount of work that our team can do, this is the best choice for the future,” said Del Valle. “As a result, we can achieve a number of other things. We are given the opportunity to look at our philosophy at a deeper level and improve those aspects. It gives us the opportunity to polish our operators a little more so that all 50+ operators look good. “
“And this is a kind of unofficial announcement, but it also gives us the opportunity to work on next-gen. We will be working on that in the coming years.”
A release date for Rainbow Six Siege on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X has not yet been released, but Ubisoft is focusing on launching the new consoles.
The developer wants to prevent the community from being split in two. Against Windows, Central has said that the next-gen versions cross-generation can be played with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X will be released at the end of 2020, so it makes sense that the next-gen version of Rainbow Six Siege is not available for this.
